Fundamental analysis will determine what is worth investing in; technical analysis can help with the timing of the buy.

Expanding on your technical analysis theme. The bearish view requires the head and shoulders to be completed with a close of the S&P 500 below approximately 980, below the downward sloping neck line.
The bullish view requires a close above the nearly level neckline around 1128.
As I write this, the S&P 500 is at 1122. We are very close to technical support for the bullish view.
I am with you, though. I see a slow growth scenario and a trading range market. Technical analysis is fine, but you can't ignore the fundamentals.

By the way, does anyone believe we will ever get back to the "old standard" of 9/1 leverage (~11% reserve)?
